Bukit Gapis

Bukit Gapis is a landscape geosite under the Batang Melaka Permanent Forest Reserve, Jasin, formed from Triassic-age granite around 200-240 million years old, representing part of the Western Granite Belt of Peninsular Malaysia. The area is rich in unique geological features such as spheroidal weathering, granite tors, tafoni caves, conjugate joints, and joint-controlled stepped waterfalls (Jeram Tok Janggut). Bukit Gapis is also rich in biological and cultural value, including large-buttressed Jelawai trees, Tongkat Ali, damar, and insect species like glow worms and rhinoceros beetle larvae.
