Rock Diversity

Pulau Hanyut

📍 Jasin

A boulder-granite island showing two granite phases formed by hydrothermal processes.

Pulau Hanyut is underlain by granite, mainly in boulder form. The granite has two phases - medium-grained and fine-grained - resulting from hydrothermal processes acting after the host rock hardened. This structural pattern is clearly visible alongside aplite, quartz veins, pegmatite patches and xenolith patches.
