Melaka Geopark refers to a cluster of candidate geosites in Melaka — including Tanjung Tuan, Pulau Besar, Pulau Undan, and Pulau Upeh — being researched for their geological, biodiversity, and cultural heritage significance, with the long-term goal of national and potentially UNESCO Global Geopark recognition.
Tanjung Tuan is located at the Melaka-Port Dickson border in Alor Gajah district, accessible by road. Visitor details will be updated here.
Not yet. Melaka Geopark is currently an "Aspiring Geopark" working towards recognition as a National Geopark, with the long-term goal of becoming Malaysia's next UNESCO Global Geopark. The dossier preparation process is ongoing, led by a committee of geologists and heritage experts.
29 potential geosites have been identified across the districts of Jasin, Alor Gajah, and Melaka Tengah, covering rock diversity, landform diversity, anthropogenic diversity, and geological process diversity.
