Biotite granite boulders 1-15m in size along the path to a man-made dam, showing onion-skin weathering.
The rocks in the Batang Melaka area consist of biotite granite, mostly in boulder form. These boulders range from 1m to 15m in size and can be seen along the path towards the man-made dam. The boulder surfaces here appear layered, likely influenced by onion-skin weathering - a process caused by changes in temperature, pressure, expansion and contraction of the rock.
